Bluefocus team works in greenhouse gases emissions trading since the beginning of the European emissions trading scheme (EU-ETS), in 2005. Bluefocus developed and put into operation the Portuguese Emissions Registry  (RPLE) and the Croatian Emissions Registry. During the startup phase of the European Registries, Bluefocus adapted and operated several softwares, such as SYRINGAS, CR and EUCR, until the European Commission took over the responsibility of the platform.

Since 2005, Bluefocus manages RPLE on behalf of the Portuguese Environment Agency. As the Portuguese registry manager, Bluefocus team provides supports to all Portuguese registry users, interacts with fellow registry administrators, regularly attends the Registry Administrators Meetings of the European Union and of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and follows all the legal and regulatory framework change in this domain.
